Main House Guest Rooms
The Main House guest bedrooms are available for overnight guests and accommodate up to 26 people. Each guest bedroom has a distinctive personality with several rooms offering a wonderful balcony lake view. A complementary continental breakfast consisting of toast, coffee, tea, coffee cake, muffins and fresh fruit is offered to all our overnight guests.

The Zephaniah Platt Room (#1) - Sleeps 2, two single
beds, private bath, lake view wing. In 1784 Zephaniah Platt
gave the present Valcour site, plus additional acreage to
Nathaniel Platt and it remained in the Platt's family possession
unitl 1865.
The Port Jackson Room (#2) - Sleeps 4, two double beds,
private bath, lake view wing, access to second floor balcony.

southern portion of the property was called Port Jackson or
Port Jackson Wharf and was sold to Mumfred and Ashley
Morgan Bissell. Currently, one of the homes near Valcour has
named their driveway Port Jackson Lane.
The Champlain Room (#3) - Sleeps 6, three double beds,
Named after beautiful Lake Champlain.
The Valcour Room (#4) - Sleeps 2, one queen bed, private
bath, lake view wing, access to second floor balcony. Named
after historic Valcour Island.
The Sibley Room (#5) - Sleeps 4, two double beds, private
bath. Congressman Joseph Crocker Sibley and his wife Ida
Rew Sibley acquired the Valcour property in 1904 and owned
it until 1915. Sometime between 1905 and 1910, the Sibley's
built the existing boathouse to accommodate their yacht.
•* The Heathcote Room (#6) - Sleeps 2, one double bed,
shared bathroom. In 1944 Celia Sibley Wilson who owned
Valcour at the time, died and passed on the property to her
sister, Josephine Sibley Heathcote, at that time the property
was being called the Heathcote Estate.
•* The John L. Rey (#7) - Sleeps 2, two single beds, shared
bathroom. John L. Rey (born 1882) was commissioned as
groundskeeper by Celia Sibley Wilson. Mr. Rey was
responsible for the current profile of the grounds. He also
maintained a formal garden as well as a cutting garden
for Mrs. Wilson and passed away the same year she did.
•* The George W. Angell Room (#8) - Sleeps 2, two single
beds, shared bathroom. Dr. George W. Angell became the
sixth President of SUNY Plattsburgh. Throughout his career,
he focused on expanding educational opportunities, with a
focus on international education. By the time he retired from
Plattsburgh, he had developed and implemented a plan that
changed Plattsburgh from a small teacher-training program
institution to a multi-faceted college of the arts and
sciences
•* The Wilson Room (#9) - Sleeps 2, two single beds, shared
bathroom. In 1915 Celia Sibley Wilson received the property
from her parents Joseph and Ida Sibley. The Wilson's were
affluent NYS Bankers who summered at the Wilson Estate
(Valcour) during that time. In the early 1920's part of the
original structure was destroyed by fire. In 1952 the present
main house structure was completed.
