The Inn guest bedrooms are available for overnight guests all year round. Each guest bedroom has a distinctive personality, with three rooms offering a wonderful balcony lake view.

Valcour is not a full service hotel or bed and breakfast, but that doesn't compromise the true Adirondack hospitality and comfort you will experience while staying with us.

Valcour does not have a "front desk" so upon arrival, please make yourself at home and go in the front door and proceed upstairs to your reserved bedroom(s) (a bedroom listing will be posted in the entry). All bedrooms are clearly marked with a room number and name. Your reserved room's keys will be in your guest bedroom door lock. Check in begins at 2:00 PM and check out promptly at 11:00 AM. Check in time can be flexible depending on prior reservations and with advance request.

Limited televisions are available at Valcour (cable is not offered), please request a television if you would like one, and if one is available we will be happy to place it in your room. Valcour Inn has wireless Internet access, a password is not required to access internet connectivity. Please select Main House as your server. Please keep in mind that our downstairs rooms may be either scheduled or being prepared for upcoming events and is not available for use by our overnight guests unless prior arrangements have been made and fees discussed.

A under counter refrigerator, microwave, cups, bowls, plates and utensils are located in the second floor breakfast nook. For those who enjoy coffee or tea throught the day, supplies are avaiable for your convenience in the breakfast nook. A light continental breakfast will be set in this area and is available from 8:00am – 10:00am for our overnight guests. Our light fare breakfast consists of bagels or muffins, fresh fruit, coffee and tea.

The Zephaniah Platt Room (#1)

The Zephaniah Platt Room sleeps 2, one queen bed, private bath with shower. In 1784 Zephaniah Platt gave the present Valcour site, plus additional acreage to Nathaniel Platt and it remained in the Platt's family possession unitl 1865. The overnight fee for the Zephaniah Platt room is $115.00. Winter rate 11/1 to 3/31: $85.00. One rollaway may be placed in this room.

The Port Jackson Room (#2)

The Port Jackson Room sleeps 2, one king bed, private bath double vanity sink and tub/shower, lake view wing, access to second floor balcony. In 1865 section of the southern portion of the property was called Port Jackson or Port Jackson Wharf and was sold to Mumfred and Ashley Morgan Bissell. Port Jackson was an extremely busy port of call for merchants in the 1800s. The overngiht fee for the Port Jackson room is $160.00. Winter rate 11/1 to 3/31: $130.00. One rollaway may be placed in this room.

The Champlain Room (#3)

The Champlain Room sleeps 4, one queen bed and one full size bed, private bath with shower, lake view wing, access to the second floor balcony. Named after beautiful Lake Champlain. The overnight fee for the Champlain Room is $165.00. Winter rate 11/1 to 3/31: $135.00. One rollaway may be placed in this room.

The Valcour Room (#4)

  

The Valcour Room sleeps 2, one king canopy bed, private bath with shower, lake view wing, access to second floor balcony. Named after historic Valcour Island. The overngiht fee for the Valcour Room is $175.00. Winter rate 11/1 to 3/31: $145.00. Two rollaways may be placed in this room.

The Sibley Room (#5)

The Sibley Room sleeps 4, two full size beds, private bath with tub/shower. Congressman Joseph Crocker Sibley and his wife Ida Rew Sibley acquired the Valcour property in 1904 and owned it until 1915. Sometime between 1905 and 1910, the Sibley's built the existing boathouse to accommodate their yacht. The overnight fee for the Sibley Room is $145.00. Winter rate 11/1 to 3/31: $115.00. *The Heathcote Room (#6)

The Heathcote Room sleeps 2, one full size bed, shared bathroom. In 1944 Celia Sibley Wilson who owned Valcour at the time, died and passed on the property to her sister, Josephine Sibley Heathcote, at that time the property was being called the Heathcote Estate. *The John L. Rey (#7)


The John L. Rey Room sleeps 2, one full size bed, shared bathroom. John L. Rey (born 1882) was commissioned as groundskeeper by Celia Sibley Wilson. Mr. Rey was responsible for the current profile of the grounds. He also maintained a formal garden as well as a cutting garden for Mrs. Wilson and passed away the same year she did. *The George W. Angell Room (#8)

The George W. Angell Room sleeps 2, two twin size beds, shared bathroom. Dr. George W. Angell became the sixth President of SUNY Plattsburgh. Throughout his career, he focused on expanding educational opportunities, with a focus on international education. By the time he retired from Plattsburgh, he had developed and implemented a plan that changed Plattsburgh from a small teacher-training program institution to a multi-faceted college of the arts and sciences. The overnight fee for the George W. Angell Room is $85.00. Winter rate 11/1 to 3/31: $65.00. One rollaway may be placed in this room.  *These bedrooms share two bathrooms.

*The Wilson Room (#9)

The Wilson Room sleeps 2, one full size, shared bathroom, shared bath. In 1915 Celia Sibley Wilson received the property from her parents Joseph and Ida Sibley. The Wilson's were affluent NYS Bankers who summered at the Wilson Estate (Valcour) during that time. In the early 1920's part of the original structure was destroyed by fire. In 1952 the present main house structure was completed. The overnight fee for the Wilson Room is $85.00. Winter rate 11/1 to 3/31: $65.00. *These bedrooms share two bathrooms.
