Spring Break Return Buses are cancelled. We will not be bringing students back to campus.

MESSAGE FROM BRYAN HARTMAN, Vice-President for Enrollment and Student Success

Dear Students,
We have made the difficult decision to cancel the buses that were set to return you to campus this weekend.
This is driven by escalating public health concerns across the state of New York and the nation associated with the COVID-19 outbreak. It is also with the guidance of state and local health officials that we take these steps. At the college, we are actively discouraging students from returning to campus after spring break. On campus services have been greatly scaled back, with events cancelled, offices mostly closed and the shift to remote, distance learning set to begin in full force Monday. Most employees are working from home. These are challenges I know you are familiar with as you grapple with the situation where you live. It is our hope, as it is yours, that we return to normalcy soon.

In the meantime, we know this creates obstacles for the balance of your spring semester. It is our intention to do whatever we can to ensure you can fulfill and complete your academic requirements remotely. Student accommodations remain in place. We recognize accommodation needs may be different as we make the shift to remote and distance learning instruction. College Auxiliary Services is working on a refund methodology due to the cancelation of the bus. More details will be sent to you in the near future.

Make sure you are connecting with your faculty members as they roll out the new instruction methods for each of your classes. You can also utilize the "I have a question" function in Cardinal Star that is found in the MyPlattsburgh portal when you need assistance. This is not the spring semester any of us envisioned. But our commitment to you at home is as strong as it has ever been.
