(Please note: students have approximatley 10 days from the start of classes to change their meal plan each semester. Reminder notices are sent through the Student Digest and social media channels. Meal Plan change requests after these designated dates must be medical in nature and requires Campus Dieitian approval.)

Frequently Asked Questions       

FRESHMAN STUDENTS - A FRESHMAN is defined as a student attending their first two semesters of classes on a college campus only (Freshman status is not defined by total number of credits).  Freshmen are required to purchase the Anytime Dining + $125 Meal Plan. Why? Because the Anytime Dining allows for unlimited visits to our all you care to eat dining halls; Clinton and Algonquin. In addition, there is no need to track your meal plan use. Freshmen may not change their meal plans.

SOPHOMORE STUDENTS - SOPHOMORE students may select one of the following residential meal plans: Anytime Dining + $125, Flex 150 + $650 or Flex 120 + $900.  Your sophomore class standing is defined by SUNY Plattsburgh.  *Class standing indicates a student has attended a minimum of two semesters of classes.

JUNIOR/SENIOR/GRADUATE STUDENTS - JUNIOR, SENIOR or GRADUATE students may select one of the following residential meal plans: Anytime Dining + $125, Flex 150 + $650, Flex 120 + $900 or Flex 120 + $450.  *Class standing is defined by SUNY Plattsburgh.

2017-2018 MEAL PLANS
There is on average 107 meal plan days in a semester. 

ANYTIME DINING + $125.00 (Dining Dollars $95.00 + Express Dollars $30.00) $2,275.00 per SEMESTER

Unlimited access to all you care to eat dining in Algonquin, Clinton and Little Al's + 7 (seven) Retail Meals per week any meal period + 1 (one) Late Night Meal Trade (Sundowner/Subway/Griddles, 8:00PM - closing) + 8 Guest Passes. FRESHMAN students may only select this meal plan option.  (A Freshman is defined as a student attending their first two semesters of classes on a college campus - freshman status is not defined by total number of credits.)

FLEX 150 + $650 (Dining Dollars $487.50 + Express Dollars $162.50) $2,110.00 per SEMESTER

150 Meal Trades in all you care to eat dining halls; Algonquin, Clinton and Little Al's until closing + a meal value of $8.25 in all on campus retail dining facilities + a meal value of $8.25 at Late Night (Sundowner/Subway/Griddles, 8:00PM - closing). Meal Trades do not carry over from fall to spring semester. 

FLEX 120 + $900 (Dining Dollars $675.00 + Express Dollars $225.00) $2,130.00 per SEMESTER

120 meal trades in resident all you care to eat dining halls; Algonquin, Clinton and Little Al's until closing + a meal trade value of $8.25 in all on campus retail dining facilities + a meal value of $8.25 at Late Night (Sundowner/Subway/Griddles, 8:00PM - closing). Meal Trades do not carry over from fall to spring semester.

*FLEX 120 + $450 (Dining Dollars $337.50 + Express Dollars $112.50) $1,670.00 per SEMESTER

120 meal trades in resident all you care to eat dining halls; Algonquin, Clinton and Little Al's until closing + a meal trade value of $8.25 in all on campus retail dining facilities + a meal value of $8.25 at Late Night (Sundowner/Subway/Griddles, 8:00PM - closing). Meal Trades do not carry over from fall to spring semester.  *Students must have at least a Junior class standing (as defined by SUNY Plattsburgh) to select this meal plan. 

Meal plans are priced and developed to suit the dining needs of students over the course of each semester. As stated in your housing contract, students residing on campus are required to purchase a residential meal plan each semester regardless of any remaining Meal Trade, Dining Dollar or Express Dollar balance on your account.
