1. I have special food requirements (allergies, diabetic). How do I get meals that meet my needs?
You may contact Jeff Vallee, Campus Dietician at 564-3030 or jvall001@plattsburgh.edu. Jeff will work with you to ensure your daily needs are met.

2. What happens if I am sick or hurt and can't get to the dining halls to eat?
The Student Health Center or your RA can issue an authorized sick pass. An acquaintance of the individual may bring the authorized sick pass plus the sick student's Cardinal Card to the cashier at Clinton Dining Hall.

3. What happens if I can't get to the dining halls in time to eat?
If a student has an academically related reason (e.g. class conflict, student teaching assignment, or nursing assignment) a copy of your schedule can be brought to Clinton Dining Hall so that a box lunch can be provided. Please note box lunches are not provided for students leaving campus for weekend trips or holiday breaks.

4. How do I choose a Meal Plan?
You select a meal plan on your Student Account bill, or you can purchase an Off Campus (commuter) meal plan with cash, check, credit card or cardinal cash at College Auxiliary Services' offices located in Clinton Dining Hall.

5. How do I access my Meal Plan?
Your meal plan is accessed through your Plattsburgh State ID card. You simply present your card to the dining facility cashier at the time of purchase.

6. Where can I use my Meal Plan?
If you have Anytime Dining Meal Plans A, B or C you may use your meal plans at our all-you-care-to-eat dining facilities Clinton, Algonquin, Little Al’s and Late Night. Meal Plans B and C are supplemented with dining dollars which gives you the option of dining at any dining facility on campus.

If you have Declining Balance Meal Plans D, E or F you may use your meal plans at any of our retail facilities; the Sundowner, Fresh Express, *Green Grocer, *Subway, *Tim Horton's, Sibley Cart and Hawkins Patio. With one of the Declining Balance Meal Plans you may pay per meal at our all-you-care-to eat dining facilities; Clinton, Algonquin or Little Al’s at a reduced meal rate;

•  Lunch/brunch $6.00
•  Dinner $7.50

7. Do I have to purchase a Meal Plan?
Yes, if you are living on campus you are mandated by the SUNY Plattsburgh Housing Office to purchase one of the residential meal plans. PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU ARE A FIRST SEMESTER RESIDENT STUDENT YOU MUST CHOOSE MEAL PLAN A B OR C.

8. If I don't like my Meal Plan can I change it?
Yes, there are a few days at the beginning of each semester in which you are allowed to switch Meal Plans. All of the dining facilities will have a sign posted stating the last day to change Meal Plans.

9. How do I know how much I have left on my meal plan?
Select Cardinal card and then click on Manage Your Account Online and you can view your meal plan totals. When making an on campus meal purchase you can ask a cashier how many meals you have remaining or call CAS (564-2035).

10. Can I use my Meal Plan for someone else?
No meal plans are non-transferable and meant for the sole use of the student to whom it was issued. You can treat a friend with a guest pass, dining dollars or cardinal cash.

11. Can I add Dining Dollars or Guest Passes to my meal plan?
You may add dining dollars anytime! Guest passes may not be added.

12. Do I need to purchase a meal plan each semester?
Yes, if you are an on campus (resident) student the SUNY Plattsburgh Housing Office mandates the purchase of an on campus meal plan each semester.

13. Am I entitled to a refund if I do not use all of my meal plan?
If a student officially withdraws from the university then a prorated refund would be issued.

14. Can I use my Dining Dollars at Campus Express?
Yes. You may make purchases totaling up to 20% of the total cost of you meal plan. Allowable purchases at Campus Express include; food, beverages, health and beauty aids.
